Nice Day for Fishing – Review
Overview
Nice Day For Fishing is my first game review. The game was developed by FusionPlay and published by Team17. It was released on May 29, 2025, for Steam, PS5, and Switch. The price is $19.99. The age rating from ESRB – T Teen [Fantasy Violence, Language, Mild Blood, and Suggestive Themes.]
Gameplay
The gameplay was fun. Nice Day For Fishing focuses on fishing, quests, and leveling up. Fishing was a mix of boring and fun. Sometimes, if you have to fish for the same fish over and over, it can get boring, but when you fish for different fish, it can be fun and exciting. You use a boat to fish and to travel. The way fishing works is to cast your rod into the water and go up or down. When you find a fish, you wait for it to touch your hook, then start attacking the fish. To catch the fish, you keep attacking it until the health bar is down, but you have to block its attacks. Some fish have powers like stun, poison, and more.
The bosses are like the fish, but the bosses are bigger and use different attacks. They do more damage than fish. Sometimes bosses can drop stuff. The boss items help you go further in the game. When you go further in the game, you unlock more items, spells, fishing rods, and fish food.
The quest came from different people. There are a lot NPCs that will give you quests. These quests will usually have you catch fish or find items. Once you finish your quest, you will get your reward. Throughout the game, you will find chests. Some chests will have gold coins or a item.
Graphics and Sound
The graphics are pixelated which feels like a retro game. I really enjoy that it fits the game. Everywhere I’d go the textures were so colorful and the music changes every time I’m in a different place. I like how it changes the music in every different area.

Kid Friendly
Overall I feel like Nice Day For Fishing is for older kids. This game is rated teen. It had language like “crappy”, “bad ass”, “crap”, and “damn”. But there was no blood in the battles. When you attack fish, the fish flashes red. The boss were big but not scary enough to stop me playing.

Bottom Line
Nice Day For Fishing is a really fun game. This review was on the Nintendo Switch, and I had no problems playing. I would recommend this game for older kids and adults because the language. I was really happy that Nice Day For Fishing was my first game to review.
