The Simpsons Arcade cabinet from Arcade1Up is official! After rumors over the past few days, Arcade1Up officially confirmed this morning that the classic Simpsons arcade game is coming soon.
Any kid who visited an arcade or pizza joint in the early 90s undoubtedly has memories of dumping every last token they had playing this very game.
Until today, the only way to play the classic Konami beat-em-up was either through emulation, on console through the Xbox Live arcade, or buying a vintage working arcade cabinet.
Eventually the game was pulled from Xbox Live making it even more difficult to obtain legitimately.
This new cabinet from Arcade1Up solves that problem in a major way.
The cabinet will have the same form factor as other 4-player Arcade1Up units such as the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cabinet.
It will feature a light up marquee and a clear deck protector. As with other Arcade1Up cabinets, a matching riser will be available as well.
One of the biggest additions is WiFi which should allow for online multiplayer games. So, even if you’re hanging out solo in your home arcade, you can still find others to play with.
Finally, the very same graphics from the original Simpsons Arcade machine are found on the Arcade1Up unit as well.
This arcade cabinet will also come with the lesser known Simpsons bowling game. The bowling game will utilize the track ball found between the front two joysticks.
Pre-orders for The Simpsons Arcade machine by Arcade1Up will go live on July 15th, 2021.
