New Plants vs. Zombies Release Date Announced

by on September 4, 2019

I don’t know about you, but I was very surprised by EA’s announcement of the release date for Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville!  The alpha playtest was only a little while ago, so I was expecting a release date in Spring 2020.  But I’m happy to be wrong!  The newest Plants vs. Zombies game arrives October 18th on Xbox One, Playstation 4, and PC.  Unless you purchase the Founder’s Edition…in which case you can play RIGHT NOW!!!  Here is the newest gameplay trailer –

Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville looks to expand the action of Garden Warfare with bigger maps, more characters (both plants and zombies) and more customization.  It looks like there will be 3 new characters for each side, bringing the total number of characters to 20.

According to the EA website, the Founder’s Edition gives you slow access to the game leading up to the official release.  New game modes and areas will unlock every week until the full game is available.  You will get exclusive rewards and access to the official Discord server.  Any progress you make will carry over after the official launch.  And best of all – the Founder’s Edition is only $29.99!  The regular price will be $39.99.

I think it is safe to say that the Founder’s Edition is the way to go.  Besides the price, it will be nice to have some of the rewards and try out the new game modes and map areas before the official launch.  What do you think of the surprise release date?  Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
