Since 2014 Vainglory has been one of the top multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) style games on mobile. Starting its life as a 3v3 focused game that kept its matches under 30 minutes for more mobile-minded players the game has seen a lot of new characters, match types, skins, and most recently the addition of more traditional 5v5 style MOBA gameplay and digital control updates.
Now it looks like Super Evil Megacorp is taking Vainglory from the realm of phones and tablets into the world of PC. It’s hard to say if this move was always planned in the roadmap of Vainglory, or if the recent success of Arena of Valor on mobile has had anything to do with the move, but the developers have already stated that the engine that they’ve built over the last 4 years is helping them greatly with the move.
You can already go download alpha clients for both Windows and Mac from Super Giant here. They are also requesting feedback, as well as bug submissions as the clients are in early alpha. As a fan of Vainglory who has not really gotten into many PC MOBA games, it will be good to finally have a clue what I’m doing.
