Kicking It with Kickstarter – Week Ending 9/9

by on September 7, 2016

Can I Kick It??? YES YOU CAN!!!

We are back with another edition of Kicking It with Kickstarter!!!  Every week, we bring you interesting projects that you can support on Kickstarter.  Why not spend your hard earned money on amazing projects instead of wasting it on the Playstation 4 Pro?  I kid, I kid……but not really 🙂 Ok, let’s get this show on the road and highlight 3 projects that I thought were interesting.

Dual Universe

Dual Universe, from Novaquark, is a Continuous Single-Shard sandbox MMORPG.  That means that there is one unique world that is shared by all players at the same time.   As a player, you can modify the universe and create structures, spaceships, orbital stations, and build up civilizations.  The gameplay will also include an in game economy, trade, and warfare.  Think of it as an extremely large sandbox in space that you can tackle solo or co-op!  I want to be careful not to compare Dual Universe to No Man’s Sky because Dual Universe looks to be vastly different.  This game looks like it will be a blast to play with friends, so I am hoping it makes its Kickstarter goal.  The project has 33 days left, so click HERE to check it out and support it if you can!

FlowFire Games has created a pretty cool top down shooter with RPG elements.  In Synthetik, you play as an android trying to save mankind from being overrun by machines.  It looks like a very challenging game.  The levels are a mix of random and hand crafted encounters.  Not only that, you have to worry about permadeath in Synthetik!  RPG elements come into play as you customize layouts and weapon variants.  Synthetik has 18 days left on Kickstarter.  Make sure you click on the link HERE to see more!

The Forest Beyond

I am a huge fan of any company who creates video game content for educational purposes.  Noisy Neighbors have created a clever stop animation game designed for ages 2-6.  The game offers free exploration, so children can play games and discover hidden treasures in any order.  The game looks really colorful and lively.  The game offers positive reinforcement as children learn and complete tasks.  Not only is positive reinforcement important, but the focus on nature is also a great addition to this educational game.  I can’t wait to play it with my little ones.  For more information, and if you are interested in backing the project, click HERE.  The Forest Beyond has 23 days left on Kickstarter.

That’s it for this week!  If you have a project that you want us to feature, please let us know in the comments or on social media.  See you all next week!
