Games to look forward to in 2016 – Makerimages’ pick

by on January 2, 2016

Happy New Year! What better way could there be to start 2016, than by compiling a list of the best games to look forward to in 2016. Here are some of my favorite titles.

A Unity-powered game, that’s been in production for over 2 years now. With a great-sounding storyline and some great trailers, studio Campo Santo’s first game is sure to be something to await to. Scheduled for release February 9th.

Far Cry Primal

An interesting take on the series, Primal, which was teased by Ubisoft with an interesting livestream is set ca 12 000 years before present time. Mammoth and tiger hunting certainly sounds fun for this writer. One can only get access to melee weapons like spears, clubs, axes, and short-ranged weapons like bows, all of which must be crafted from the items found within the environment. It is set to be released for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on February 23, and Microsoft Windows in March 2016.

Tom Clancy’s The Division

Another game to wear the late author’s name. Powered by Ubisoft’s brand-new Snowdrop engine sure looks beautiful. The game takes place in mid-crisis New York, an open world with destructive environments that is free for players to explore. The US goverment has collapsed within 5 days since a virus outbreak on Black Friday. The player’s mission is to restore order by investigating the source of the virus. The games seriously emotional live action trailer sure didn’t leave me cold. Set for release on March 8th.

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End

The End. To a Series. A series, that for me atleast is one of the few reasons to even consider buying a Playstation. Naughty Dog has previously exeeded excpectations several times, and we are all to hope this will be the same case. This video of a crowd going crazy during an airing of the press conference in a cinema, sure shows the big expectations. The game is set three years after the events of Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception with Nathan “Nate” Drake, now retired as a fortune hunter, has settled into a normal life with his wife Elena Fisher. His world is then turned upside down when his older brother Sam, long believed to be dead, suddenly appears seeking Drake’s help. Together they embark on a globe-trotting journey in pursuit of a conspiracy behind Libertatia, a long lost pirate colony, and its fabled pooled pirate treasure. Naughty Dog outlined the game’s plot as

his greatest adventure yet and will test his physical limits, his resolve, and ultimately, what he’s willing to sacrifice to save the ones he loves

Set for release on April 26th and 27th.

OOOOOOooooooo WEEEE the Division looks better and better the more I see. I hope it brings back a bit of the raid type teamwork that I miss from not playing WOW any more…. yes I realize that this is completely different genre of game, but it was the team work part of WOW (dungeons and raids) I liked the most…. screw level grinding.
