Final Fantasy XV is coming to PC!

by on August 21, 2017

The most recent chapter in the Final Fantasy franchise is now coming to PC. Final Fantasy XV and all its DLC will be making its way over to your personal computer in early 2018. Under the name Final Fantasy XV: Windows Edition, it will be available to purchase on Steam, Origin, and the Windows 10 store. This sounds to be the most complete experience of Final Fantasy XV as it  “contains content from the free updates to the console versions & paid DLC originally available through the Season Pass.” You won’t just be getting more of the same because Final Fantasy XV: Windows Edition will also have new features as well.

The features included are:

  • 4K high-resolution textures
  • Dolby Atmos
  • Realistic grass simulation
  • Advanced hair simulation
  • Combustible fire, smoke and fluid simulation
  • Advanced shadow algorithms
  • High quality ambient occlusion
  • Versatile screenshot captures
  • First-person camera mode

These features all sound impressive, but worrying some people are the recommended specs to run the game.

Recommended Specs:

• Monitor: supports 4K & HDR
• GPU: Geforce 1080Ti
• CPU: Intel i7 3.4ghz or Ryzen 7 1700
• RAM: 16 GB
• 5.1 or 7.1 surround headphone
• HDD: 170GB
• 5.1 or 7.1 surround headphone

Again this is just recommended, not minimum specs needed to run the game, but to get the best experience you may need to upgrade your gaming rig. It’s not just the physical specs that have people scared, the file size of the game is 170gb. So if you have slow internet you may be downloading the game for weeks. Or if you have a data cap you’ll have to plan accordingly.

Regardless, many Final Fantasy fans are excited. They have waited patiently for a PC port and they have gotten one. Below is the announcement video for Final Fantasy XV: Windows Edition. Let us know what you think, are you excited? Do you have to upgrade your pc? We’ll see you in the land of Eos in early 2018!
