Cyberpunk 2077 PS5 Review
Cyberpunk 2077 1.5 update reveals the next-gen version that was promised last year by CD Project Red. If you own the PS4 version of the game and have a PS5 you can upgrade your copy of Cyberpunk 2077 for free. It is a completely separate download from the PS4 version of the game. The 1.5 Patch adds improved AI, DLCs, smoother gameplay, and bug fixes. The PS5 version adds two types of modes Performance and Ray Tracing. The performance mode gives the player a smooth 60fps with dynamic 4K. The Ray Tracing mode provides photo-realistic shadow and reflections at 30fps while still giving the player 4K scaling.
I have played Cyberpunk 2077 since launch on base PS4 and with all the patches in the past year. This next-gen version improves on everything I have seen very few bugs and glitches with this recent update and have not had one crash. The major additions in this patch include appearance customization, buying separate apartments around Night City, and secrets left for the player to find out for themselves. The haptic feedback shines in the game. From feeling the shifting gears while driving around to the kickback of the shotgun and hand-to-hand combat. This may be the best use of the feature of any current game for the PS5.
3D audio is utilized well while walking around in the desert you can hear rattlesnakes in the bushes nearby and packs coyotes howling in the distance. While you walk the streets of Night City you will hear gunfights in the distance. Exploring Night City you can hear all the hustle and bustle all around you. Night City has never felt more alive. There are more pedestrians on the street and vehicles on the road. People react to your actions more believable now. If you bump into them or pull out your gun the AI reacts to those situations more realistically.
In this latest patch, many people believe this is how Cyberpunk 2077 should have been at launch. In time we shall see how gamers will accept CD Project Red handling of this game and support the future of the franchise. This is a step in the right direction for Cyberpunk 2077 I believe it will have a bright future. Now that we have a more stable product on consoles the next step is to see how the expansion for Cyberpunk will be. CD Project Reds pedigree with an amazing expansion like Witcher 3s Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine. I am very excited to see what is next. If you are still on the fence about getting Cyberpunk 2077 there is a free five-hour demo available now till March 15th for all platforms.
