Over the weekend, a new Middle Earth game was leaked by a US retailer (THAT’S WHY WE CAN’T HAVE NICE THINGS, TARGET). There was some speculation about it, and luckily, the game was officially announced today!!
Middle Earth: Shadow of War, is a sequel to the fan favorite Shadow of Mordor. Details are pretty scarce, but it was announced that players will wield a new ring of power and take on hordes of enemies, including Sauron and the Nazgul. It’s an open world game and will include new additions to the Nemesis system, which was one of the coolest features of Shadow of Mordor.
We don’t have to wait long for the release! Shadow of War will be released August 22nd, 2017! It will be available for PC and PS4. It was also announced that Shadow of War will be an Xbox Play Anywhere title. And the best news? Shadow of War will be available on Project Scorpio when the console is released this holiday season!! According to a Xbox Wire post, if you purchase a digital version of Middle-earth: Shadow of War on either the Xbox Store or Windows Store, you will automatically have access to the game on both Xbox One and Windows 10 at launch – and for Project Scorpio at its launch this holiday season – at no additional cost. That news is absolutely incredible. We don’t know a lot of details about Scorpio, but it’s great to see some announcements as to what games will be available for it.
I can’t wait to see more on Shadow of War, but in the meantime, check out the announcement trailer here!
