Battlefield 2042 Preorder Guide

So you’re hyped about Battlefield 2042? Good, I mean who isn’t?? I’m hoping this information may help some people decide on if they should preorder, or what version to preorder. Let’s GO!

Preorder Intro

Just to start. Battlefield 2042 is launching on October 22, 2021. Depending on when you read this, it could be a long wait, or maybe just a few days. Either way, buckle up.

Battlefield 2042 will be available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Playstation 4, Playstation 5, and PC. Though the game and overall gameplay will be the same on each system, the hardware limitations of the Xbox One and Playstation 4 will only allow you to have a max of 64 players. While the Xbox Series X|S, Playstation 5, and PC will allow you to have an epic-scale battle of 128 players! This alone may sway you to look a little harder for a next-gen console.

What do you get for preordering Battlefield 2042?

Just for plunking down money to guarantee your copy of Battlefield 2042 you get three rewards right off the bat:

You get a sweet-looking Baku ACB-90 knife, slick little “Mr. Chompy” charm, and “Landfall” Player Card Background and “Old Guard” Tag. Don’t forget, you also get access to open beta as well! Not a bad little deal just for grabbing a preorder!

What’s the difference between the Battlefield 2042 Editions?

This is a little confusing and I hope this graphic helps.

The Standard Edition just grants you the basic preorder bonuses. Again, not bad for just wanting to play the game.

The Gold Edition gets you all of the basic preorder bonuses, but you also get Early Access to Game Launch. The Early Access starts October 15th, 2021. For some more hardcore players looking to get a jump on unlocks this is a pretty sweet deal! You also get a Year 1 Pass which includes, 4 New Specialists (Skins), 4 Battle Passes (Battle Royal maybe?), and 3 Epic Skin Bundles (I would assume for weapons). It doesn’t say but I would assume the skins would just be for preorders. Though don’t quote me, I will reach out and ask.

The Ultimate Edition gets everything from the other edition preorders, but you also are getting a Midnight Ulitmate Bundle, an Official Digital Artbook, and an Exclusive Digital Soundtrack. For the major fans of Battlefield, this looks to be a must buy. I would love to get my hands on the soundtrack alone!
