Assetto Corsa Takes Lead in Fall Driving Simulators.. Gran Turismo Sport Delayed
Out TODAY Is the “Hardcore Racing” Sim Assetto Corsa (AC) for Playstation 4 and Xbox One, brought to you by 505 Games. AC Will take a head start to the next generation Racing Simulator for Playstation 4 as recently announced the long awaited and highly anticipated Gran Turismo Sport will be delayed until “Sometime” in 2017. We can only imagine that these said delays are partly due to making sure that the VR Aspect of the game is fine tuned and working correctly.
“I am sharing some news today that we have made the difficult decision to delay the release of Gran Turismo Sport to 2017”
“as we approach our planned release date in November, we realize we need more time to perfect GT Sport, which we’ve already dedicated so much effort towards since announcing the title. We do not want to compromise the experience in any way. While we cannot confirm a new release date at this time, we are more committed than ever to making GT Sport the best Gran Turismo game to date”.
– Kazunori Yamauchi (Founder of Polyphony Digital, Creator of Gran Turismo)
Moving forward to a brighter note, we look at the already released Assetto Corsa. AC had an initial release back on December 19th 2014 on PC via the popular steam network. According to Matthew Kato from Game Informer “Publisher 505 Games in partnership with Kunos Simulazioni announced on 3 June 2015 that they would bring the simulation to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in 2016”
Fast forwarding to 2016, here we are and with a racing platform that all hardcore racing simulator fans should be able to enjoy while they wait or possibly forget all about that Gran Turismo Sport. To give you an idea on how much the Developers over at 505 Games pride themselves on the simulation aspect of racing, Community manager Antonela Pounder explains..
“Assetto Corsa prides itself on its laser scanned circuits and insanely accurate cars, which have been built from the tires up with actual manufacturer data to ensure the highest level of detail and precision possible. Head into game now and you’ll be able to experience this for yourself in more than 90 cars on iconic circuits such as Silverstone, Monza, Spa Francorchamps, and Nürburgring-Nordschleife (to name a few) in Career mode, Time Attacks, Challenges, Race Weekends, Drag Races, and more!”.
Moving forward, 505 Games is fully aware that they have only just begun and with lots more of exciting additions to Assetto Corsa are just down the road. New content is expected to be released in the coming months. This sounds like it will do just fine as a stop gap if not replacement for those heavy hearts while we wait for the release of Gran Turismo Sport for its now slated 2017 release.
