Activision Announces Plans for Licensing Expo 2019

I know that E3 2019 is just around the corner, but I wanted to report on some upcoming products being shown at this year’s Licensing Expo 2019.  Licensed video game products are a huge deal to consumers, and typically licensed gaming products are so much fun to collect.  Yesterday, Activision Blizzard Consumer Products Group, or ABCPG, announced their lineup for the Licensing Expo 2019, and once again their products are stellar.

Call of Duty has a large presence this year with CoD clothing from DRKN launching in the fall.  Call of Duty products will also be created by Fashion UK, Bioworld, KontrolFreek, New Era, Pyramid, Astro, Scuf Gaming, Surreal, and Rubber Road.

Blizzard will also offer a variety of awesome products.  As you have already seen, Overwatch Legos, action figures, and NERF blasters are already in the marketplace.  More products will arrive this fall, including an Overwatch Monopoly game.  Funko Pops will launch even more figurines.  UNIQLO will launch an exclusive line of clothing featuring Overwatch and World of Warcraft in the Spring/Summer 2019.  And, if these products aren’t enough, you can preorder an Overwatch cookbook from Insight Editions.  Finally, multinational book publisher Scholastic announced preorders for the third installment of the World of Warcraft Traveler book series, aimed at young readers, which is due out later this year.

Lastly, The Overwatch League has also entered into an e-commerce license agreement with Fanatics, the worldwide leader in licensed sports mer­chandise. This new e-commerce platform helps fans around the world connect with their favorite league, teams, and players via Shop.Overwatch­ Through the multiyear deal with Fanatics, ABCPG will bring the avid esports fan base ongoing licensed product offerings. On May 20, Baozun launched the Overwatch League’s official China e-commerce shop on Tmall (Alibaba Group). Newly launched relationships for the Overwatch League include New Era, Starter, G-III, Outerstuff, and the first-ever trading card program for esports with Upper Deck. Additionally, Funko will be launching an Overwatch League-themed Pop! Vinyl SKU in Q4 of this year. ABCPG is also currently exploring opportunities for the next iteration of Call of Duty esports.
