Pokemon Direct Recap

by on June 6, 2017

It’s a little curious that Nintendo decided to show a Nintendo Direct this close to E3.  But then again, today’s direct was only 8 minutes long, so I guess they are still saving some surprises for the show.

Today, Nintendo announced that Pokken Tournament Deluxe will be arriving this fall for the Nintendo Switch.  Pokken Tournament Deluxe will basically be a port of the Wii U version, but with the inclusion of 5 new Pokemon – Darkrai, Scizor, Empoleon, Groagunk, and Decidueye.  It will include 3 vs. 3 team battles, online ranked matches, and friends only matches.  Plus, you will have the portability that comes with owning an Nintendo Switch!

There will be a playable demo at E3 this year and will have some footage shown during the Treehouse presentation on June 13th.  You can watch a Tournament from E3 on June 14th at 10:30 PST.

Pokken Tournament Deluxe was not the only thing shown.  It was also announced that Pokemon Ultra Sun and Pokemon Ultra Moon will be coming later this year to the 3DS.  It will feature new Pokemon that did not appear on the original versions.

Plus, Pokemon Gold and Silver will be coming to the 3DS shop!  It will be awesome to add more classic Pokemon titles to the 3DS library.

Pokken Tournament Deluxe and Pokemon Gold and Silver will launch Sept. 22nd, 2017.  Ultra Sun and Moon will launch Nov. 17th, 2017.

If you want to see the footage from the Direct, head to the Nintendo page HERE, or watch it below (fast forward to the 30 minute make to see the actual presentation).

Was this the Pokemon news you were hoping for?  Let us know in the comments below!
