Microsoft Announces E3 2018 Plans

by on March 14, 2018

It’s that exciting (and frustrating) time of year when fans dive deep into E3 rumors.  So far this year, we have dealt with rumors about the size of Microsoft’s booth at E3 and other speculation about what they have planned.  Yesterday, we got a vague tweet from Tom Warren (Senior Editor at The Verge) about what we can expect from Microsoft this year –

And today, Microsoft officially announced what they have planned!

This year, Microsoft will be taking over the Microsoft Theater at LA Live.  It will be home to official E3 events like the Xbox E3 2018 Briefing, various Xbox FanFest activities, hands-on gameplay, and demos for all E3 attendees and more. According to the announcement on Xbox News Wire, the Microsoft Theater allows Microsoft the opportunity to centralize their Xbox presence at E3, and have more room for fans and experiences.

There will still be an Xbox presence at Los Angeles Convention Center.  A dedicated Mixer booth will be available for attendees to play, stream and interact with games and catch the latest E3 news live throughout the entire week.

The Xbox E3 2018 Briefing will be held on June 10, 2018, at 1 PM PT.

I love this move.  I had the opportunity to attend the past 2 briefings at the Gallen Center, and I think the Microsoft Theater will be more accommodating.  Traffic might be a bit rough, but it shouldn’t be a big issue.  Also, I am very intrigued by the hands-on experiences that will be available to E3 attendees.  Hopefully, things will run smoothly for Microsoft and attendees.

I’m sure more will be announced at a later date, but for now, I am excited to see what Microsoft will show at E3 this year.
