Crytek, after their closed alpha ended, announced today that Hunt: Showdown has officially entered Early Access on Steam!
“We want to take this opportunity to thank everybody who participated in closed alpha testing,” said Hunt Producer Fatih Özbayram in a press release. “It was essential for us in our continuing developments, and we are grateful to have such a dedicated community this early in the game.”
“Early access is a big milestone for the team, and we are all excited to finally be releasing Hunt: Showdown out into the wild,” said Hunt: Showdown Creative Director Magnus Larbrant. “With Hunt, we wanted to make the game that we, as gamers, have always wanted to play ourselves: tense, dark, addictive, terrifying—a real adrenaline-pumping experience. We have the foundations laid out, and now with the support and input of the community during early access, we can polish that experience together.”
For those of you who don’t know, Hunt: Showdown is a competitive first-person shooter/bounty hunting game. It has a mix of PvE elements (loads of undead creatures as well as the bounty to hunt) and PvP elements (not only do you have the undead to deal with but fellow hunters as well).
The alpha had its fair share of technical difficulties, but it was a blast to play. The PvE and PvP elements were intense and made every play session a little different. There’s no lobby, so you don’t know how many hunters you have to deal with. Even though we had server issues and graphical anomalies, we still had a great time with the crisp gameplay and fantastic sound design. I am extremely excited to see where Hunt: Showdown goes with its time in early access.
Hunt: Showdown is available in Early Access for $29.99 right here!
We will continue checking out Hunt: Showdown in its early access. In the meantime, check out some footage from our first hunts in the alpha!
